Traveling to Sudbury for an EMDR Intensive
Practical guidance for clients who travel for care. Consultation first, preparation can be virtual, and follow-up support continues after you return home.
How out-of-town care works
Consultation comes first. Preparation can be done virtually, so travel is not wasted. When you arrive in Sudbury, the clinical work is ready to begin.
Clients who travel for care come from across Ontario and beyond. The process is designed so that the time you spend here is focused on the work itself.
Your intensive days
Extended, structured processing time with breaks and grounding built in.
The structure of each day is planned during preparation, so you know what to expect before you arrive.
Getting to Sudbury
By air: Greater Sudbury Airport (YSB) has regular flights from Toronto.
By road: The drive from Toronto takes about four hours, and from North Bay about an hour and a half.
By bus: Many bus companies travel to Sudbury from major centres across Ontario.
Planning your visit
When we schedule your intensive, I can offer practical guidance on timing and what to plan for. Travel and accommodation are arranged by you.
I do not book, arrange, or coordinate travel or accommodation. Clients arrange their own travel and lodging.
After you return home
Virtual follow-up sessions are available after you return. A plan for what to do if something comes up after travel is part of the structure.
Integration support is planned before the intensive begins, so you are not left to navigate the aftermath alone.
Flexible financing and NIHB coverage options.
Financing options can make an EMDR Intensive easier to plan for. I am a registered NIHB provider, and eligible clients may be able to have intensives covered. Ask during your consultation.
Registered NIHB provider. Eligible First Nations and Inuit clients may be able to have EMDR Intensives covered through Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB). Coverage depends on eligibility and authorization. Ask during your consultation and I'll help you understand the process.
